  1. Conduct phlebotomy procedures on patients in a safe and efficient manner.
  2. Follow established protocols and procedures for specimen collection, handling, and processing.
  3. Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when collecting and labeling specimens.
  4. Provide exceptional patient care and ensure a positive experience for all patients.
  5. Utilize proper infection control techniques to prevent the spread of disease.

  8. Adhere to all regulatory and compliance standards in regards to specimen handling and documentation.
  9. Keep up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in phlebotomy techniques.
  10. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure timely and accurate test results.
  11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and service delivery.
  12. Provide training and mentorship to new phlebotomists as needed.
  13. Handle and resolve any patient or specimen related issues in a professional and timely manner.
  14. Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and patient satisfaction.
  15. Represent the organization in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: A Valid Certification From A Nationally Recognized Organization Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Is Required For The Role Of Iop Phlebotomist At Covance-Labcorp. This Certification Demonstrates Proficiency In Phlebotomy Techniques And Knowledge Of Relevant Safety Protocols.

  • Experience: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In Phlebotomy Is Preferred For This Position. Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Proper Blood Collection Procedures, Specimen Handling, And Processing.

  • Communication Skills: Strong Communication Skills Are Essential For This Role As Iop Phlebotomists Are Required To Interact With Patients, Healthcare Professionals, And Laboratory Staff On A Daily Basis. The Ability To Effectively Communicate And Follow Instructions Is Crucial For Accurate Specimen Collection And Processing.

  • Attention To Detail: Attention To Detail Is Critical In The Role Of An Iop Phlebotomist As Even The Smallest Errors In Specimen Collection Or Labeling Can Have A Significant Impact On Test Results. Candidates Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail And The Ability To Perform Tasks Accurately And Efficiently.
