
IOP Phlebotomist

- Perform phlebotomy procedures on patients in an outpatient setting according to established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and compassion while interacting with patients and their families.
- Ensure accurate identification and labeling of all blood samples collected.
- Maintain proper documentation of all procedures, including patient information and test results.
- Adhere to all regulatory and compliance requirements related to phlebotomy and patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members to ensure a smooth and efficient phlebotomy process.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
- Follow proper infection control protocols to minimize the risk of contamination and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with industry standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of care for patients.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information and follow HIPAA guidelines.
- Respond to any urgent or emergency situations with prompt and appropriate action.

- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and provide feedback for enhancing the phlebotomy process.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management team.
Certification: A Valid Certification In Phlebotomy From A Recognized Organization, Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha).
Prior Experience: At Least 1 Year Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomist In A Clinical Or Laboratory Setting, Preferably In An Independent Outpatient Setting.
Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures: Must Possess A Thorough Understanding Of Laboratory Procedures And Protocols, Including Proper Specimen Handling And Storage, As Well As Knowledge Of Laboratory Equipment And Safety Measures.
Communication And Customer Service Skills: Excellent Communication Skills And The Ability To Interact With Patients In A Professional And Compassionate Manner. Must Also Be Able To Work Effectively With A Team, Including Physicians, Nurses, And Laboratory Staff.
Attention To Detail: Accuracy And Attention To Detail Are Essential Qualities For A Phlebotomist. Must Be Able To Follow Strict Protocols And Maintain Precise Records To Ensure The Integrity Of The Specimens And Accuracy Of Test Results.
