  1. Perform complex histological procedures: The histotechnician will be responsible for performing a variety of complex histological procedures such as tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, and cover slipping.
  2. Ensure accuracy and quality of testing processes: The histotechnician will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of all histological tests performed in the laboratory. This includes following standard operating procedures, adhering to quality control measures, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
  3. Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies: The histotechnician will be responsible for maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results. They will also be responsible for ordering and organizing supplies needed for histological procedures.
  4. Document and record data: The histotechnician will be responsible for accurately documenting and recording data from all histological procedures performed. This includes keeping detailed records of samples, test results, and any deviations or errors encountered.
  5. Collaborate with team members: The histotechnician will work closely with other team members, including pathologists, scientists, and other laboratory personnel. They will need to effectively communicate and collaborate to ensure efficient and accurate testing processes.
  6. Follow safety protocols: The histotechnician will be responsible for following all safety protocols and maintaining a safe and clean working environment. This includes handling hazardous chemicals and following proper disposal procedures.
  7. Continuously improve processes: The histotechnician will be expected to continuously seek out ways to improve and optimize histological procedures to ensure the highest quality results.
  8. Stay up to date with industry developments: The histotechnician will be responsible for staying informed about new developments, techniques, and technologies in the field of histology. They will need to attend training and conferences to stay current with industry standards.
  9. Adhere to company policies and regulations: The histotechnician will be expected to follow all company policies and regulations, including those related to safety, quality control, and ethical standards.

Job Qualifications
  • Associate's Or Bachelor's Degree In Histotechnology Or A Related Field, Such As Biology Or Medical Laboratory Science.

  • Current Certification As A Histotechnician (Ht) Or Histotechnologist (Htl) From A Recognized Accrediting Agency, Such As Ascp Or Amt.

  • At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working In A Histology Laboratory, Preferably In A Clinical Or Research Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Histology Techniques, Including Tissue Processing, Embedding, Sectioning, And Staining.

  • Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Accurately Document And Maintain Laboratory Records And Data.
