- Develop and implement a strategic plan for state government relations that aligns with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Monitor and analyze state legislation and policy changes that could impact the company's operations and make recommendations for action.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including state legislators, regulators, and industry organizations.
- Represent the company's interests and advocate for policy positions at state hearings, meetings, and other events.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with company goals in all government relations efforts.
- Prepare and distribute written materials, including policy briefs, position statements, and talking points.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in government relations and incorporate them into the company's approach.
- Develop and manage the state government relations budget.
- Provide guidance and support to local teams on state-level advocacy efforts.
- Act as a liaison between the company and state government officials to facilitate productive communication and relationships.
- Communicate regularly with senior management on the status of state government relations activities and potential risks or opportunities.
- Stay informed of any changes in state regulations or policies that could impact the company's operations and proactively address any issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with all state laws and regulations.
