1. Perform cytology tests and examinations on a variety of samples, including body fluids, tissue specimens, and smears, using a microscope and other laboratory equipment.

3. Prepare and stain slides for microscopic analysis, ensuring accuracy and quality control measures are followed.
4. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including pathologists, to provide accurate and timely diagnoses for clients.
5. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all tests, results, and findings.
6. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
7. Stay updated on new techniques and technologies in the field of cytology and implement them as needed.
8. Communicate test results to healthcare providers and patients in a clear and professional manner.
9. Participate in quality assurance programs and assist in maintaining laboratory accreditation.
10. Train and supervise other laboratory staff, such as technicians and assistants, as needed.
11. Follow all regulatory requirements and comply with company policies and procedures.
12. Maintain confidentiality of all patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
13. Act as a resource for colleagues and provide guidance and support when needed.
14. Continuously monitor and troubleshoot equipment, and report any malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel.
15. Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment and participate in departmental meetings and discussions.
