
Research Scientist, Electron Microscopy
Corning is looking for an exceptionally talented and motivated Research Scientist, Electron Microscopy to join our team and take our research to the next level. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, validating, and optimizing electron microscopy techniques for a wide variety of materials, as well as developing new methods to characterize materials. We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of electron microscopy and related analysis techniques who is also able to collaborate effectively with team members from diverse disciplines. The ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field, as well as at least 5 years of experience in conducting and supervising electron microscopy research. Responsibilities:
- Develop, validate, and optimize electron microscopy techniques for a wide variety of materials.
- Develop new methods to characterize materials.
- Collaborate effectively with team members from diverse disciplines.
- Supervise electron microscopy research.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify trends and provide insights to improve electron microscopy techniques.
- Prepare and present reports and presentations summarizing research results.
- Create and implement plans to ensure successful completion of research projects.
- Participate in the development of new electron microscopy techniques and equipment.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of electron microscopy techniques and trends.
- Mentor and coach junior scientists in the use of electron microscopy techniques.
