IT Cybersecurity Sr Engineer

CommonSpirit Health is looking for an experienced and highly motivated IT Cybersecurity Sr Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess an in-depth knowledge of IT security protocols and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. You should have exceptional problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and the drive to stay up-to-date on the latest security trends.To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, plus five or more years of experience in IT security, preferably in a healthcare setting. Additionally, you should have experience with network security, firewall setup and configuration, intrusion detection systems, and security analysis. Expertise in scripting languages and a familiarity with IT regulations and standards such as HIPAA and HITRUST is a plus.

Responsibilities:

1. Implement IT security protocols and best practices to ensure the security of CommonSpirit Health's networks and systems.
2. Monitor networks, systems, and applications to identify, analyze, and respond to potential security threats.
3. Develop, maintain, and regularly audit security policies and procedures.
4. Configure and manage network security devices such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and proxies.
5. Investigate security incidents and coordinate with relevant teams to contain, investigate, and resolve them.
6. Educate staff on cybersecurity best practices and assist with security awareness training.
7. Research and stay up-to-date on the latest security trends and vulnerabilities.
8. Test and evaluate security products and solutions.
9. Develop scripts to automate security processes.
10. Comply with industry regulations and standards such as HIPAA and HITRUST.
