Job Description

CommonSpirit Health is searching for an experienced Corporate Counsel to join our team. The ideal candidate would be a highly-motivated attorney with a passion for providing legal advice and guidance to the organization. In this role, you will have the opportunity to serve as a strategic partner to leaders across the organization and provide legal advice on a range of matters.The successful Corporate Counsel will have a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, a license in good standing from any state bar, and at least eight years of relevant in-house and/or law firm experience. You will need to have a strong knowledge of the healthcare industry, specifically regarding the laws, regulations, and compliance that apply to healthcare organizations and providers. You should also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and possess the ability to think creatively and critically. Additionally, you must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.If you are an experienced attorney with a passion for providing legal counsel in the healthcare field and you meet the qualifications listed above, we invite you to apply for this position.

Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as a strategic partner to leaders across the organization to provide legal advice and guidance.
  2. Interpret and apply relevant laws, regulations, and compliance that apply to healthcare organizations and providers.
  3. Draft, review, and negotiate a range of contracts and agreements.
  4. Provide legal advice on matters related to healthcare operations and business transactions.
  5. Manage a large volume of legal work and prioritize tasks.
  6. Research and analyze legal issues and provide advice in response to inquiries.
  7. Stay up-to-date on changes in the healthcare industry and ensure the organization is compliant.
  8. Develop and implement policies and procedures related to legal matters.
  9. Represent the organization in court or other legal proceedings.
  10. Develop and maintain relationships with external counsel and other legal professionals.
