
Phlebotomist
The Phlebotomist position at Comanche County Memorial Hospital is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and skilled individual with a background in medical and laboratory procedures. We are looking for a team member who is dependable and organized, with an eye for detail and excellent communication skills. The successful applicant will have experience in collecting and preparing blood and other specimens, as well as a commitment to providing outstanding patient care.The ideal candidate must meet the following qualifications: a high school diploma or equivalent, phlebotomy certification (or the ability to obtain it within 6 months of hire), understanding of laboratory safety protocols, and a minimum of one year of experience in phlebotomy. In addition, a strong customer service focus and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment are essential qualities.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and prepare blood and other specimens for laboratory testing.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Adhere to safety protocols in the laboratory.
- Receive and process patient specimens.
- Provide excellent patient care and customer service.
- Label and store specimens in an appropriate manner.
- Follow all clinical and laboratory protocols.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Monitor inventory levels and restock supplies as needed.
- Monitor quality control procedures.
- Update patient records in the system.
- Assist with other clinical duties as needed.
