- Develop and maintain effective business continuity and disaster recovery plans to ensure the resiliency of the organization's operations in the event of a disaster or disruption.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.
- Conduct risk assessments and business impact analysis to determine critical business functions and prioritize recovery efforts.
- Design, implement, and test disaster recovery procedures and protocols to ensure business continuity in the event of a disaster.
- Monitor and regularly review the effectiveness of the business continuity and disaster recovery plans and make necessary updates and improvements.
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on disaster recovery protocols and procedures.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on disaster recovery and business continuity best practices, staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements.
- Work closely with IT teams to ensure the security and integrity of critical business data and systems during a disaster or disruption.
- Coordinate and lead disaster recovery drills and exercises to evaluate the readiness and effectiveness of the business continuity plans.
- Act as a liaison with external vendors and partners to ensure their disaster recovery plans align with the organization's business continuity goals.
- Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to provide updates on disaster recovery preparedness and response efforts.
- Handle and resolve any issues or challenges that may arise during a disaster or disruption, minimizing the impact on the organization.
- Analyze and report on the success of business continuity and disaster recovery efforts, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain documentation and records related to business continuity and disaster recovery plans, ensuring they are up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Continuously assess and improve the organization's overall disaster recovery and business continuity strategy to ensure it meets industry standards and best practices.
Extensive Knowledge Of Disaster Recovery And Business Continuity Best Practices: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Disaster Recovery And Business Continuity Principles, Including Risk Management, Backup And Recovery Strategies, And Business Impact Analysis. They Should Also Be Familiar With Industry Standards Such As Iso 22301 And Nist Sp 800-34.
Experience In Designing And Implementing Disaster Recovery Plans: The Candidate Should Have Hands-On Experience In Developing And Implementing Disaster Recovery Plans For A Complex And Highly Available Environment. This Includes Creating Recovery Strategies, Documenting Procedures, And Conducting Regular Tests And Exercises To Ensure The Effectiveness Of The Plan.
Proficiency In Cloud Computing And Virtualization Technologies: As A Cloud-Based Company, Cloudflare Expects Its Business Continuity Plan / Disaster Recovery Engineer To Have Expertise In Cloud Computing And Virtualization Technologies. This Includes Experience With Aws, Azure, And Google Cloud Platform, As Well As Knowledge Of Server Virtualization Technologies Such As Vmware Or Hyper-V.
Strong Problem-Solving And Communication Skills: The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Problem-Solving Skills, As Well As The Ability To Communicate Complex Technical Concepts To Both Technical And Non-Technical Stakeholders. They Should Also Be Able To Work Effectively Under Pressure And Make Critical Decisions In High-Stress Situations.
