  1. Prepare surgical instruments and equipment for procedures, ensuring they are properly sterilized and functioning correctly.
  2. Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sponges, and other necessary items.
  3. Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room by following proper infection control protocols.
  4. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond quickly and efficiently.
  5. Handle specimens and lab samples in accordance with established protocols.
  6. Document and maintain accurate records of procedures and supplies used.
  7. Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
  8. Troubleshoot equipment issues and report any malfunctions or defects.
  9. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on best practices and new technologies.
  10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including safety protocols and ethical standards.
  11. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  12. Provide support and assistance to other members of the surgical team as needed.
  13. Stay organized and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient and timely completion of procedures.
  14. Assist with patient transport and positioning before and after surgery.
  15. Continuously monitor and assess patient condition during procedures and report any changes or concerns to the surgical team.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Credential From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Hospital Or Surgical Center Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Surgical Equipment, Instruments, And Procedures.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills.

  • Ability To Work On An As-Needed Basis, Including Weekends And Holidays.
