As a Surgical Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our surgeons and ensuring the success of each procedure.   1. Collaborate with surgeons and other members of the surgical team to prepare for and assist in surgical procedures.
  2. Set up and maintain sterile fields and equipment, ensuring a safe and clean environment for surgical procedures.
  3. Anticipate the needs of surgeons and assist with surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures.
  4. Monitor and document patient vital signs and assist with positioning and prepping patients for surgery.
  5. Prepare and handle surgical specimens for laboratory analysis.
  6. Follow all safety protocols and infection control measures to prevent surgical site infections.
  7. Operate and maintain surgical equipment, including sterilization and troubleshooting.
  8. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all surgical procedures and patient information.
  9. Provide emotional support to patients and families during the pre and post-operative process.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with new procedures and techniques in the surgical field.
  11. Assist with scheduling and coordinating surgeries, including pre-operative and post-operative care.
  12. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
  13. Maintain supplies and inventory in the operating room and report any shortages or issues.
  14. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations.
  15. Uphold the mission and values of the Cleveland Clinic, providing the highest quality of care and compassion to all patients.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Credential From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa)

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Surgical Technician In A General Surgery Setting

  • Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures And Instrumentation Related To General Surgery, Including Laparoscopic And Open Surgeries

  • Ability To Anticipate The Needs Of Surgeons And Assist With Surgical Tasks, Such As Retracting, Suturing, And Maintaining A Sterile Field

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills, With The Ability To Work Well Under Pressure In A Fast-Paced Surgical Environment
