- Perform comprehensive ophthalmic testing, including visual acuity, visual fields, and tonometry, utilizing advanced equipment and techniques.
- Assist ophthalmologists in various procedures, such as eye exams, surgeries, and diagnostic testing.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical history, test results, and treatment plans.
- Educate patients on proper eye care and treatment plans, including medication administration and post-operative care.
- Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of ophthalmic equipment and instruments.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in ophthalmic technology and procedures.
- Train and supervise junior ophthalmic technicians and provide ongoing support and guidance.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare team members to ensure efficient and coordinated care.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical and legal standards in the handling of patient information.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure patient satisfaction throughout their visit.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of new protocols and procedures.
- Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude and promote a collaborative and team-oriented work environment.
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience As An Ophthalmic Technician, Preferably In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting.
Certification As A Certified Ophthalmic Technician (Cot) Or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (Comt) From The Joint Commission On Allied Health Personnel In Ophthalmology (Jcahpo).
In-Depth Knowledge Of Ophthalmic Equipment, Procedures, And Techniques, Including Proficiency In Manual Refraction, Tonometry, And Oct Imaging.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Interact Effectively With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Demonstrated Leadership Abilities, With Experience In Training And Mentoring Junior Ophthalmic Technicians And Overseeing Clinic Operations.
