1. Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill patients in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU).
2. Utilize expertise and knowledge to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
3. Monitor and assess patients' conditions, and report any changes or concerns to the physician.
4. Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
5. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
6. Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and self-care techniques.
7. Ensure patient safety by following all infection control and safety protocols.
8. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
9. Assist with procedures and surgeries as needed.
10. Act as an advocate for patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
11. Stay current on new developments and techniques in surgical nursing through continuing education and professional development.
12. Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care.
13. Maintain a professional and compassionate attitude towards patients, families, and colleagues.
14. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to improve patient outcomes and achieve department goals.
15. Assist with training and mentoring new staff members.
