
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

In this role, you will work closely with our ABA therapists to implement behavior intervention plans and provide direct, one-on-one therapy to children and adults with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. A current RBT certification and experience working with individuals with special needs are required for this position. - Implement behavior intervention plans: The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) will be responsible for implementing behavior intervention plans as outlined by the ABA therapists. This includes following specific protocols and techniques to address behavioral issues and promote positive behaviors in individuals with special needs.
- Provide direct one-on-one therapy: The RBT will work directly with children and adults with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities to provide one-on-one therapy sessions. This may include teaching new skills, reinforcing positive behaviors, and addressing challenging behaviors.
- Collaborate with ABA therapists: The RBT will work closely with ABA therapists to understand and implement behavior intervention plans. This may involve attending team meetings, providing progress updates, and seeking guidance from the therapists when needed.
- Maintain accurate records: It is the responsibility of the RBT to maintain accurate and thorough records of client progress and any changes in behavior. This includes documenting therapy sessions, progress towards goals, and any behavioral incidents.
- Ensure safety of clients: The RBT must prioritize the safety of clients at all times. This includes closely monitoring clients during therapy sessions, following safety protocols, and reporting any safety concerns to the appropriate individuals.
- Engage in ongoing training and professional development: To ensure high-quality therapy services, the RBT must participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities. This may include attending workshops, conferences, or completing additional certifications.
- Uphold ethical standards: The RBT must adhere to ethical standards set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). This includes maintaining confidentiality, respecting clients' rights and dignity, and following ethical guidelines for behavior analysis.
- Communicate effectively: Effective communication is crucial in this role, as the RBT will need to collaborate with ABA therapists, communicate with clients and their families, and provide progress updates to supervisors. The RBT must possess strong communication skills and be able to adapt communication styles to different individuals.

Certification As A Registered Behavior Technician: The Candidate Must Hold A Valid Rbt Certification From The Behavior Analyst Certification Board (Bacb).
Bachelor's Degree In Psychology Or A Related Field: The Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Psychology, Education, Or A Related Field. A Degree In Applied Behavior Analysis (Aba) Is Preferred.
Experience Working With Individuals With Developmental Disabilities: The Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 1 Year Of Experience Working With Individuals With Developmental Disabilities, Preferably In A Clinical Or Educational Setting.
Knowledge Of Aba Principles And Techniques: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Aba Principles, Techniques, And Strategies, As Well As The Ability To Implement Them Effectively In A Clinical Setting.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Work With Clients, Families, And Other Team Members. This Includes The Ability To Effectively Collaborate And Communicate With Other Healthcare Professionals At Cleveland Clinic.
