  1. Dispense and distribute medications accurately and efficiently in compliance with pharmacy regulations.
  2. Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  3. Maintain patient records and prescription information accurately and confidentially.
  4. Prepare and package medications for distribution.
  5. Monitor medication inventory levels and assist with ordering and restocking.
  6. Conduct medication audits and perform quality assurance checks.
  7. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers.
  8. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  9. Train and mentor new pharmacy technicians as needed.
  10. Stay updated on new medications, regulations, and procedures through continuing education.
  11. Demonstrate strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  12. Assist with maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: Candidates For This Position Should Possess A Valid Pharmacy Technician Certification (Cpht) From Either The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha).

  • Experience: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working As A Pharmacy Technician In An Inpatient Setting Is Required. Candidates Should Have Knowledge Of Medication Dispensing, Inventory Management, And Compounding.

  • Familiarity With Hospital Pharmacy Systems: Proficiency In Using Hospital Pharmacy Systems, Such As Pyxis, Epic, Or Cerner, Is Essential For This Position. Candidates Should Be Able To Navigate These Systems Efficiently To Retrieve Patient Information, Accurately Dispense Medications, And Record Inventory.

  • Attention To Detail: In An Inpatient Setting, Every Medication Dispensed Must Be Accurate And Accounted For. Candidates Should Have Excellent Attention To Detail And Be Able To Follow Strict Protocols For Preparing, Labeling, And Documenting Medications.

  • Flexibility And Availability: As A Prn (As Needed) Pharmacy Technician, Candidates Should Be Able To Work Flexible Schedules, Including Weekends And Holidays, To Meet The Needs Of The Inpatient Pharmacy Department. Candidates Should Also Be Willing To Be On-Call For Emergency Situations.
