  1. Perform blood draws and other specimen collection procedures accurately and efficiently.
  2. Ensure patient comfort and safety during all phlebotomy procedures.
  3. Follow established protocols and safety measures to prevent contamination and maintain specimen integrity.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized work area, properly dispose of biohazardous materials, and restock supplies as needed.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members, providing clear instructions and answering any questions or concerns.
  6. Record and maintain accurate documentation of all procedures performed and patient information.
  7. Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  8. Continuously assess and improve upon phlebotomy techniques to ensure the highest quality standards.

  10. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Phlebotomy Training Program: Candidates For A Phlebotomy Technician Job At Cleveland Clinic Must Have Completed A Formal Training Program From An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Safely And Accurately Collect And Handle Blood Samples.

  • Certification As A Phlebotomy Technician: A Valid Certification As A Phlebotomy Technician From A Recognized Organization, Such As The National Healthcareer Association (Nha) Or The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp), Is Required For This Position. This Demonstrates A Candidate's Proficiency In All Aspects Of Phlebotomy Procedures.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Safety Protocols: The Phlebotomy Technician Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology, As Well As Safety Protocols And Procedures For Handling And Disposing Of Hazardous Materials. This Is Crucial For Maintaining A Safe And Hygienic Work Environment And Preventing The Spread Of Infections.

  • Experience With Venipuncture And Specimen Collection: Cleveland Clinic Requires Candidates For This Position To Have A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Performing Venipuncture And Collecting Various Types Of Specimens.
