Completion Of An Accredited Phlebotomy Training Program: Candidates For A Phlebotomy Technician Position At Cleveland Clinic Must Have Completed A Training Program At An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That They Have Received Proper Education And Training In Phlebotomy Techniques, Safety Protocols, And Medical Terminology.
Certified Phlebotomy Technician (Cpt) Credential: In Addition To Completing A Training Program, Candidates Must Also Hold A Current Cpt Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As The National Healthcareer Association (Nha) Or The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures: Phlebotomy Technicians At Cleveland Clinic Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures Related To Blood Collection And Processing. This Includes Knowledge Of Different Types Of Blood Tests, Proper Specimen Handling, And Infection Control Protocols.
