Completion Of An Accredited Phlebotomy Training Program: Candidates Should Have A Certificate Or Degree From A Recognized Phlebotomy Program, Which Includes Both Classroom And Practical Training In Venipuncture Techniques, Anatomy And Physiology, Infection Control, And Medical Terminology.
Certification As A Phlebotomy Technician: Candidates Should Hold A Current Certification From A Nationally Recognized Organization Such As The National Healthcareer Association (Nha) Or The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).
Experience With Blood Collection And Processing: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 6 Months To 1 Year Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomist, With A Strong Understanding Of Blood Collection Procedures, Handling And Labeling Of Specimens, And Proper Storage And Transport Of Samples.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Basic Laboratory Procedures: Candidates Should Have A Solid Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Basic Laboratory Procedures, Including Ordering And Processing Lab Tests, Handling And Disposing Of Hazardous Materials, And Maintaining Accurate Records.
Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Candidates Should Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, As They Will Be Working Closely With Patients, Doctors, And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis.
