Job Description

At Cleveland Clinic, we are dedicated to providing our patients with the highest quality of care. We are looking for a Perinatal Educator PRN who is an energetic, compassionate, and knowledgeable professional to join our team. This position requires an individual with a passion for helping expectant and new parents, and who is committed to facilitating a positive birthing experience for our patients. The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field, plus current licensure in the state of Ohio as a Registered Nurse. A minimum of two years of experience in maternal/child nursing, clinical lactation, or childbirth education is also required. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are a must. Familiarity with content related to labor and delivery, postpartum, breastfeeding, and newborn care is desired. We are looking for a professional who is prepared to take initiative and go above and beyond in providing our patients with the excellent care they deserve.

Responsibilities:

  1. Educate patients on labor and delivery, postpartum, breastfeeding, and newborn care
  2. Assist in providing expectant and new parents with a positive birthing experience
  3. Develop and maintain organizational and educational materials to support patient care
  4. Assist in the development of evidence-based clinical practice protocols
  5. Foster positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff
  7. Participate in professional development and continuing education activities
  8. Monitor and document patient care and progress
  9. Provide clinical guidance and support to patients and their families
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives
