  1. Perform organ procurement surgeries according to established protocols and standards of care.
  2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess potential organ donors and determine organ suitability for transplantation.
  3. Communicate effectively with donor families and provide support and education on the organ donation process.
  4. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements related to organ procurement.
  5. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records related to organ procurement and transplantation.
  6. Participate in on-call schedule and respond promptly to organ donor referrals.
  7. Provide leadership and guidance to other team members, including surgical residents and support staff.
  8. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and protocols to optimize organ procurement and transplantation outcomes.
  9. Participate in research and educational activities related to organ donation and transplantation.
  10. Stay current with advancements in the field of organ transplantation and incorporate new techniques and technologies into practice.
  11. Adhere to ethical and legal standards related to organ donation and transplantation.
  12. Participate in outreach and education efforts to increase awareness and understanding of organ donation.
  13. Represent Cleveland Clinic in a professional and compassionate manner at all times.
  14. Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with other medical professionals, including surgeons, physicians, and nurses.
  15. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall success of the organ procurement program at Cleveland Clinic.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: A Candidate For This Role Must Have A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.

  • Board Certification: The Candidate Must Be Board Certified In General Surgery And Have Completed A Fellowship In Transplant Surgery.

  • Experience In Organ Procurement: Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Organ Procurement, Preferably In A High-Volume Transplant Center.

  • Strong Surgical Skills: The Candidate Must Have Exceptional Surgical Skills And Be Able To Perform Complex Transplant Procedures With A High Level Of Precision And Expertise.

  • Team Player: As A Key Member Of The Transplant Team, The Candidate Must Possess Strong Teamwork And Communication Skills To Collaborate Effectively With Other Healthcare Professionals And Support Staff.
