  1. Operate and maintain sterilization equipment according to established protocols and procedures.
  2. Clean and disinfect medical equipment and instruments using appropriate techniques and solutions.
  3. Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  4. Assemble and package instruments and equipment for sterilization.
  5. Follow established protocols for handling and disposing of contaminated materials.
  6. Keep accurate records of all sterilization processes and maintain inventory of supplies.
  7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and efficient delivery of sterile equipment and instruments.
  8. Adhere to strict infection control policies and procedures to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  9. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on best practices and advancements in sterile processing.
  10. Report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to supervisor in a timely manner.
  11. Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote efficiency and safety.
  12. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards related to sterile processing.
  13. Prioritize and manage workload to meet the needs of the healthcare facility.
  14. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling patient information.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Ged: The Minimum Educational Requirement For A Non Certified Sterile Processing Technician Position At Cleveland Clinic Is A High School Diploma Or Ged.

  • Previous Experience: Candidates Should Have At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience Working In A Sterile Processing Department Or A Related Healthcare Field.

  • Knowledge Of Sterilization Techniques: A Strong Understanding Of Sterilization Techniques, Equipment, And Procedures Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Be Familiar With Steam, Ethylene Oxide, And Other Sterilization Methods.

  • Attention To Detail: Sterile Processing Technicians Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail And The Ability To Follow Strict Protocols To Ensure The Safety And Cleanliness Of Medical Equipment.
