Job Description

Welcome to Cleveland Clinic, where we are dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients and their families. We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Pediatric Primary Care team. In this role, you will work alongside our team of healthcare professionals to support and assist in the care of our young patients. We are looking for a dedicated individual with a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of medical procedures and terminology.   1. Greet patients and their families with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
  2. Assist in the care of pediatric patients by taking and recording vital signs, collecting specimens, and performing basic medical procedures.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and charts.
  4. Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  6. Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  7. Monitor and order medical supplies as needed.
  8. Educate patients and families on medical procedures, treatment plans, and preventive care.
  9. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  10. Attend and actively participate in training and educational opportunities to stay updated on best practices and procedures.
  11. Provide emotional support and comfort to pediatric patients and their families during their visit.
  12. Follow Cleveland Clinic policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  14. Continuously strive to improve processes and contribute to the overall success of the Pediatric Primary Care team.
  15. Stay current with changes and advancements in the medical field.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Ged Equivalent. This Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Education And Academic Competency Necessary For The Job.

  • Completion Of A Medical Assistant Program: Candidates Should Have Completed A Formal Medical Assistant Program From An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That They Have Received Proper Training And Education In Medical Procedures And Terminology.

  • Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) Or Registered Medical Assistant (Rma) Certification: Certification From A Recognized Organization, Such As The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama) Or American Medical Technologists (Amt), Is Preferred. This Demonstrates A Commitment To Professionalism And A Higher Level Of Knowledge And Skills In The Field.

  • Prior Experience In A Pediatric Primary Care Setting: Previous Work Experience In A Pediatric Primary Care Setting Is Highly Desirable. It Shows That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Unique Needs And Challenges Of Working With Children And Has Experience In Providing Care In This Specific Setting.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Medical Assistants In Pediatric Primary Care Need To Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Children, Their Parents, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Includes The Ability To Explain Medical Procedures To Children In A Comforting And Age-Appropriate Manner, As Well As The Ability To Work Collaboratively With The Healthcare Team To Provide The Best Care For Pediatric Patients.
