
Lead Biological Safety Officer
We are looking for a talented and experienced Lead Biological Safety Officer to join our team at Cleveland Clinic. The Lead Biological Safety Officer is responsible for providing leadership, management, and oversight of all biological safety programs across the institution. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of regulations, standards, and guidance related to biological safety and possess the ability to apply them in a healthcare setting. This individual will be a key leader in our organization and must demonstrate excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant Science field, such as Biology or Microbiology, and a minimum of 8 years of experience in a laboratory safety or related field. Master's and/or Doctoral degrees are preferred. Certification as a Certified Biological Safety Professional (CBSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is also strongly desired. The ideal candidate must have experience in developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive biological safety program, as well as the ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders.
Responsibilites:
- Lead, manage, and oversee all biological safety programs across the institution.
- Ensure all regulations, standards, and guidance related to biological safety are met.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive biological safety program.
- Work collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Create and maintain accurate records of biological safety programs.
- Provide training and education on biological safety and related topics.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of biological safety programs.
- Investigate potential biological safety incidents and take appropriate action.
