As a Lactation Consultant, you will play a vital role in providing evidence-based lactation support to patients and families, promoting and protecting breastfeeding, and facilitating a positive and empowering experience for new mothers. - Provide evidence-based lactation support to patients and families
- Promote and protect breastfeeding as the optimal method of infant nutrition
- Facilitate a positive and empowering experience for new mothers
- Educate and assist new mothers in proper latch techniques and breastfeeding positions
- Assess and address any breastfeeding challenges or concerns
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for new mothers
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient interactions and progress
- Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in lactation support
- Act as a resource and advocate for breastfeeding within the healthcare team
- Conduct prenatal and postpartum breastfeeding classes and support groups
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to new mothers
- Adhere to all ethical and professional standards for lactation consultants.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Nursing, Preferably With A Focus On Maternal And Child Health.
Certification As An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (Ibclc).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting, Providing Lactation Support And Education To Breastfeeding Mothers.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Diverse Team Of Healthcare Professionals.
Knowledge Of Current Evidence-Based Practices And Guidelines Related To Lactation And Breastfeeding, As Well As Experience In Developing And Implementing Lactation Support Programs.
