
Interventional Vascular Technologist

- Perform a variety of vascular procedures including angiograms, angioplasties, stent placements, and thrombectomies under the direction of a physician.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and answering any questions or concerns they may have.
- Operate and maintain specialized equipment, including but not limited to digital subtraction angiography (DSA) units, ultrasound machines, and fluoroscopy systems.
- Monitor patient vital signs and assess patient condition during procedures, promptly reporting any changes to the physician.
- Assist physicians in sterile techniques and patient draping to ensure a safe and clean environment for procedures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members, including nurses and radiology technicians, to ensure smooth and efficient procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of procedures, including patient information, procedure details, and any complications or adverse reactions.
- Educate patients and their families about the procedure and post-procedure care, including potential risks and complications.
- Stay up-to-date on industry advancements and new technologies in vascular technology, and implement best practices into daily work.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control guidelines to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients, promoting a positive patient experience.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive patient information.
- Act as a resource for other staff members, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Comply with all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
Completion Of An Accredited Vascular Technology Program: Candidates For This Position Should Have Completed A Recognized Program In Vascular Technology, Such As A Bachelor's Or Associate's Degree In Vascular Sonography.
Registered Vascular Technologist (Rvt) Certification: The Ideal Candidate Should Be A Registered Vascular Technologist (Rvt) Through The American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ardms). This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Knowledge And Expertise In Vascular Sonography.
Knowledge Of Interventional Procedures: A Strong Understanding Of Various Interventional Procedures In The Field Of Vascular Imaging Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Be Familiar With Techniques Such As Angioplasty, Stenting, And Embolization.
Experience With Advanced Imaging Equipment: The Interventional Vascular Technologist Will Be Responsible For Operating And Maintaining Sophisticated Imaging Equipment Such As Ultrasound, Ct, And Mri Machines. Previous Experience With These Technologies Is Highly Desirable.
