HIM Coding Analyst

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly motivated HIM Coding Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for coding and abstracting patient health information in compliance with established coding guidelines and procedures. You should have comprehensive knowledge of coding classifications, coding conventions, and coding regulations to ensure accuracy and completeness of coding in the medical record. Additionally, we are looking for someone who is detail-oriented and has strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is also preferred.

Responsibilities:

1. Accurately code patient health information in accordance with established coding guidelines and procedures.
2. Analyze patient records to ensure accuracy and completeness of coding.
3. Maintain knowledge of coding classifications, coding conventions, and coding regulations.
4. Utilize medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology to properly code patient records.
5. Stay up-to-date on coding regulations and changes in the industry.
6. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
7. Provide support to other HIM team members as needed.
8. Assist in cross-coding and abstracting patient records.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
