  1. Perform accurate and timely diagnosis of diseases affecting the head and neck region.
  2. Utilize advanced laboratory techniques and technology to analyze tissue samples and identify abnormalities.
  3. Collaborate with other members of the pathology and laboratory medicine team to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment planning for patients.
  4. Communicate effectively with clinical teams and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  5. Stay current with advancements in head and neck pathology and implement new techniques and protocols as necessary.
  6. Monitor and maintain quality control measures to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
  7. Lead and supervise a team of pathology technicians and technologists.
  8. Participate in educational activities and provide guidance and support to residents and fellows.
  9. Maintain accurate and organized records of patient samples and test results.
  10. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  11. Contribute to research initiatives and publications in the field of head and neck pathology.
  12. Represent the department and the Cleveland Clinic at professional conferences and meetings.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: A Candidate For This Position Should Possess A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.

  • Board Certification In Anatomic Pathology: Candidates Should Be Board Certified In Anatomic Pathology By The American Board Of Pathology (Abp) Or The American Osteopathic Board Of Pathology (Aobp).

  • Fellowship Training: Completion Of A Fellowship Program In Head And Neck Pathology Is Highly Preferred. This Should Include Training In The Diagnosis And Management Of Diseases And Tumors Of The Head And Neck Region.

  • Clinical Experience: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Clinical Experience In Head And Neck Pathology, Preferably In An Academic Medical Center Setting.

  • Research And Publication Record: A Strong Track Record Of Research And Publication In The Field Of Head And Neck Pathology Is Desired, With A Focus On Innovative And Cutting-Edge Research Related To The Diagnosis And Treatment Of Head And Neck Diseases.
