Job Description

As a Fire & Life Safety Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our high standards for fire and life safety across our facilities. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual who is passionate about protecting our patients, staff, and visitors.   1. Conduct regular inspections of all fire and life safety systems and equipment, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and smoke detectors.
  2. Identify and address any potential hazards or deficiencies in fire and life safety systems, and take prompt action to rectify them.
  3. Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans for all fire and life safety equipment to ensure it is in good working condition at all times.
  4. Conduct fire drills and other training exercises to educate staff on emergency procedures and protocols.
  5. Maintain accurate records of all inspections, maintenance activities, and training exercises.
  6. Collaborate with other departments and external agencies to ensure compliance with all fire and life safety regulations and codes.
  7. Respond to and assist with any emergency situations related to fire and life safety, including evacuations and fire incidents.
  8. Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and best practices in fire and life safety, and make recommendations for improvements to the current systems and procedures.
  9. Train and supervise other staff members on fire and life safety procedures and protocols.
  10. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with patients, staff, and visitors, and address any concerns or questions related to fire and life safety.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Fire & Life Safety Codes And Regulations: A Qualified Candidate For This Position Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Fire Safety Codes And Regulations. This Includes Knowledge Of Building Construction, Fire Suppression Systems, And Emergency Evacuation Procedures.

  • Fire & Life Safety Inspections Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience Conducting Fire And Life Safety Inspections In A Healthcare Setting. This Includes Inspecting Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Extinguishers, And Emergency Lighting Systems.

  • Emergency Response Training: The Fire & Life Safety Technician Should Have Training In Emergency Response Procedures, Such As Fire Suppression, Evacuation, And First Aid. This Includes The Ability To Remain Calm And Act Quickly In Emergency Situations.

  • Fire & Life Safety Equipment Maintenance: Candidates Should Have Experience Maintaining And Testing Fire And Life Safety Equipment, Such As Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Extinguishers, And Emergency Lighting. This Includes Knowledge Of Proper Maintenance Schedules And Documentation.

  • Communication And Collaboration Skills: The Fire & Life Safety Technician Will Work Closely With Other Departments And Team Members To Ensure The Safety Of Patients, Visitors, And Staff. Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills Are Essential For This Role, As Well As The Ability To Provide Training And Education On Fire And Life Safety Procedures.
