In this role, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac conditions by performing electrocardiogram (EKG) tests on patients.   1. Perform electrocardiogram (EKG) tests on patients to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac conditions.
  2. Ensure the accuracy and validity of EKG readings by following established protocols and procedures.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to infection control and safety guidelines.
  4. Prepare and educate patients on the EKG procedure, answering any questions or concerns they may have.
  5. Record and maintain detailed and accurate patient information and test results in electronic medical records.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians and nurses, to provide comprehensive patient care.
  7. Troubleshoot technical issues with EKG equipment and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
  8. Continuously stay up-to-date on advancements and changes in the field of cardiology to ensure the highest quality of care for patients.
  9. Exhibit compassion and empathy while providing exceptional patient care, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations when handling patient information.
  11. Participate in departmental meetings and trainings to improve knowledge and skills.
  12. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, at all times.
  13. Promote a positive and welcoming environment for patients and their families at all times.
  14. Assist in other departmental tasks and duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Ekg Technician Training Program Or Equivalent Experience In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Certification As A Certified Ekg Technician (Cet) Or Certified Cardiographic Technician (Cct) Through A Nationally Recognized Organization Such As The National Healthcareer Association (Nha) Or American Society Of Phlebotomy Technicians (Aspt).

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Cardiac Anatomy, Physiology, And Medical Terminology.

  • Ability To Accurately Perform And Interpret Ekg Readings, Identify Abnormalities, And Report Findings To Physicians.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals In A Compassionate And Professional Manner.
