
Director of Clinical Pastoral Education

- Develop and oversee the clinical pastoral education program at the Cleveland Clinic, ensuring it meets the standards and requirements set by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE).
- Lead and mentor a team of chaplains and students in the program, providing guidance and support in their professional and spiritual growth.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to integrate spiritual care into patient treatment plans and provide support for patients and families during difficult times.
- Develop and implement training and educational programs for healthcare staff on the importance of spiritual care and how to integrate it into patient care.
- Coordinate and facilitate spiritual support groups and services for patients and their families.
- Maintain and update records and documentation related to the clinical pastoral education program, ensuring compliance with ACPE standards.
- Continuously assess and evaluate the effectiveness of the program and make necessary adjustments to improve its impact on patients, families, and staff.
- Stay current with best practices and developments in the field of pastoral care and education, and incorporate them into the program.
- Serve as a liaison between the Cleveland Clinic and the ACPE, representing the organization at national and regional meetings.
- Foster a culture of inclusivity and diversity in the program and ensure that all patients and staff receive equal and respectful spiritual care.
- Collaborate with other departments within the Cleveland Clinic, such as social work and ethics, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards of conduct in all interactions and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of students for the clinical pastoral education program.
- Actively engage in self-care practices and seek support and guidance when needed to prevent burnout and maintain personal well-being.
- Support the mission, vision, and values of the Cleveland Clinic and promote a culture of compassion, empathy, and service.
Master's Degree In Divinity, Theology, Pastoral Counseling, Or A Related Field.
Certification As A Clinical Pastoral Education (Cpe) Supervisor Through The Association For Clinical Pastoral Education (Acpe).
At Least 5 Years Of Experience In Supervising And Teaching Cpe Students In A Healthcare Setting.
Demonstrated Expertise In The Integration Of Theology And Healthcare, And A Strong Understanding Of The Spiritual And Emotional Needs Of Patients And Their Families.
Excellent Communication And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With A Diverse Team Of Healthcare Professionals And Religious Leaders.
