1. Develop and oversee the clinical pastoral education program at the Cleveland Clinic, ensuring it meets the standards and requirements set by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE).
2. Lead and mentor a team of chaplains and students in the program, providing guidance and support in their professional and spiritual growth.
3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to integrate spiritual care into patient treatment plans and provide support for patients and families during difficult times.
4. Develop and implement training and educational programs for healthcare staff on the importance of spiritual care and how to integrate it into patient care.
5. Coordinate and facilitate spiritual support groups and services for patients and their families.
6. Maintain and update records and documentation related to the clinical pastoral education program, ensuring compliance with ACPE standards.
7. Continuously assess and evaluate the effectiveness of the program and make necessary adjustments to improve its impact on patients, families, and staff.
8. Stay current with best practices and developments in the field of pastoral care and education, and incorporate them into the program.
9. Serve as a liaison between the Cleveland Clinic and the ACPE, representing the organization at national and regional meetings.
10. Foster a culture of inclusivity and diversity in the program and ensure that all patients and staff receive equal and respectful spiritual care.
11. Collaborate with other departments within the Cleveland Clinic, such as social work and ethics, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
12. Adhere to ethical and professional standards of conduct in all interactions and maintain confidentiality at all times.
13. Participate in the recruitment and selection of students for the clinical pastoral education program.
14. Actively engage in self-care practices and seek support and guidance when needed to prevent burnout and maintain personal well-being.
