  1. Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the mission and vision of the Eye Institute.
  2. Provide leadership and direction to a team of healthcare professionals, including ophthalmologists, optometrists, and support staff.
  3. Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with Cleveland Clinic's standards and protocols.
  4. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the department.
  5. Oversee and manage departmental budgets, including the allocation of resources and the identification of cost-saving opportunities.
  6. Collaborate with other department chairs and leaders to promote interdisciplinary care and research initiatives.
  7. Recruit, mentor, and retain top talent to maintain a high-performing team.
  8. Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including industry leaders, academic institutions, and community organizations.
  9. Represent the Eye Institute within the organization, at national and international conferences, and in the media.
  10. Stay current on advancements in ophthalmology and recommend new technologies, treatments, and procedures to enhance patient care.
  11. Maintain compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
  12. Foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the department.
  13. Evaluate and monitor departmental performance metrics and develop action plans to address any areas of improvement.
  14. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to team members.
  15. Serve as a role model for professionalism, ethical conduct, and commitment to patient care.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree (Md Or Do) And Board Certification In Ophthalmology.

  • Minimum Of 10 Years Clinical Experience In An Academic Medical Center Or Large Healthcare Organization.

  • Demonstrated Leadership Experience In A Department Or Division, With A Proven Track Record Of Successful Team Management And Development.

  • Strong Understanding Of Current Trends And Advancements In Ophthalmology, Including Research And Treatment Techniques.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate And Build Relationships With Other Departments, Faculty, And Staff.
