1. Provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and their families during their time at the Cleveland Clinic.
2. Understand and respect the diverse religious and cultural backgrounds of patients and their loved ones.
3. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop a comprehensive care plan for patients that includes spiritual and emotional support.
4. Conduct religious and spiritual ceremonies and rituals as requested by patients and their families.
5. Offer counseling and guidance to patients and their families to help them cope with difficult situations and emotions.
6. Document interactions and progress in patient records.
7. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with patients and their families.
8. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and provide input from a spiritual perspective.
9. Keep up-to-date with current research and best practices in clinical chaplaincy and incorporate them into practice.
10. Act as a liaison between patients and their faith communities, when appropriate.
11. Provide education and support to healthcare staff on the role of spirituality in patient care.
12. Collaborate with other chaplains and spiritual leaders within the community to provide holistic care to patients.
13. Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 coverage for spiritual support.
14. Continually evaluate and improve chaplaincy services to meet the changing needs of patients and their families.
15. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor at all times while representing the Cleveland Clinic.
