  1. Provide expert knowledge and leadership in the field of biochemical genetics to guide and support the medical team in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  2. Collaborate with other medical professionals, including physicians, nurses, and laboratory staff, to develop and implement treatment plans for patients with biochemical genetic disorders.
  3. Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients, using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques, to accurately diagnose and treat biochemical genetic conditions.
  4. Stay up-to-date with current research, developments, and advancements in the field of biochemical genetics and use this knowledge to enhance patient care and treatment.
  5. Act as a resource and mentor for other medical staff, sharing your expertise and providing guidance on complex cases involving biochemical genetics.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, explaining complex medical concepts and treatment options in a compassionate and understandable manner.
  7. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices for the diagnosis and treatment of biochemical genetic disorders.
  8. Collaborate with hospital administration and other departments to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care and to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  9. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including patient histories, test results, and treatment plans, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  10. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards, as well as organizational policies and procedures, to ensure the delivery of safe and effective patient care.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: An Associate Medical Director - Biochemical Genetics At Cleveland Clinic Must Possess A Medical Degree From An Accredited Institution. This Includes Completion Of A Residency Program In Genetics Or Related Field.

  • Board Certification: Candidates Must Be Board Certified In Biochemical Genetics By The American Board Of Medical Genetics And Genomics (Abmgg) Or The American Board Of Pediatrics (Abp).

  • Experience In Biochemical Genetics: A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In The Field Of Biochemical Genetics Is Required For This Role. This Should Include Experience In Diagnosing And Managing Genetic Conditions, Interpreting Laboratory Data, And Conducting Research In The Field.

  • Leadership Skills: The Associate Medical Director Will Have Leadership Responsibilities, Therefore, Strong Leadership Skills Are Essential. This Includes The Ability To Effectively Manage A Team, Develop And Implement Clinical Protocols, And Provide Guidance To Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills Are Necessary For This Role. The Associate Medical Director Will Be Required To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Colleagues, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Includes The Ability To Explain Complex Medical Concepts In A Clear And Concise Manner.
