- Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, contracts, and agreements, under the supervision of an attorney.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings by organizing and maintaining case files, scheduling witnesses, and coordinating with other parties involved.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties to gather information relevant to legal cases.
- Utilize legal databases and other resources to locate and review relevant laws, regulations, and legal articles.
- Draft correspondence and other documents on behalf of attorneys, including letters, memos, and legal documents.
- Attend meetings and take notes on legal matters, providing summaries and follow-up action items as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information and documents.
- Collaborate with other paralegals and legal support staff to ensure efficient and effective workflow and to provide support as needed.
- Track and manage deadlines and ensure timely filing of legal documents.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the organization.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, organizing files, and answering phone calls.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance legal knowledge and skills.
- Adhere to ethical standards and maintain professional relationships with clients, attorneys, and other colleagues.
- Other duties as assigned by supervising attorneys or legal department.
Bachelor's Degree In Paralegal Studies Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Legal Setting, Preferably In A Municipal Or Government Organization.
Strong Understanding Of Legal Principles And Procedures, Including Knowledge Of Relevant Laws And Regulations.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Attorneys, Court Personnel, And Other Stakeholders.
Proficiency In Microsoft Office And Legal Research Databases, As Well As The Ability To Quickly Learn New Software And Technology.
