We are seeking a TERM LIMITED TEMPORARY Sustainable Operations & Innovations Advisor (SA2, L21) to join our team and help drive our sustainability initiatives forward.   1. Lead and develop sustainable operations and innovation strategies for the city.
  2. Research and analyze current sustainability practices and identify areas for improvement.
  3. Collaborate with city departments and external partners to develop and implement sustainable initiatives.
  4. Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in sustainability.
  5. Provide guidance and support to city staff on sustainable practices and initiatives.
  6. Create and maintain partnerships with community organizations and businesses to promote sustainability.
  7. Develop and implement metrics to measure the success and impact of sustainability initiatives.
  8. Prepare reports and presentations on sustainability progress and recommendations for future actions.
  9. Advocate for sustainable practices and initiatives within the city and with external stakeholders.
  10. Manage and oversee sustainability projects, including budgeting and resource allocation.
  11. Conduct trainings and workshops on sustainable practices for city staff and community members.
  12. Monitor and ensure compliance with sustainability regulations and requirements.
  13. Manage and maintain the city's sustainability data and records.
  14. Collaborate with other city departments to integrate sustainability into all facets of city operations.
  15. Act as a liaison between the city and external sustainability organizations and networks.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Environmental Science, Sustainability, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Sustainable Operations And/Or Innovations.

  • Knowledge Of Local, State, And Federal Environmental Regulations And Policies.

  • Strong Analytical Skills And Ability To Develop And Implement Sustainable Practices.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills To Work With Various Departments And Stakeholders Within The City Of Seattle.
