As a Senior Safety & Health Specialist, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing comprehensive safety and health programs to protect our employees and the public.   1. Develop and implement comprehensive safety and health programs to ensure the well-being of employees and the public in the City of Seattle.
  2. Conduct thorough assessments of workplace hazards and risks to identify potential safety and health issues.
  3. Create and update safety policies and procedures based on local, state, and federal regulations.
  4. Train and educate employees on safety protocols and practices to promote a culture of safety.
  5. Collaborate with various departments to identify and address safety concerns and develop solutions.
  6. Conduct investigations and inspections to identify and address safety violations and concerns.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies and organizations to stay updated on safety and health regulations and best practices.
  8. Analyze and interpret data related to safety and health to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  9. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of safety and health programs and make recommendations for improvements.
  10. Serve as a resource and advisor to management and employees on safety and health issues.
  11. Prepare and present reports on safety and health initiatives and progress to management and other stakeholders.
  12. Stay updated on emerging industry trends and best practices in occupational safety and health.
  13. Mentor and provide guidance to junior safety and health specialists.
  14. Promote a culture of safety and well-being within the organization.
  15. Collaborate with the community to promote safety and health initiatives and programs.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Occupational Safety And Health, With A Focus On Risk Assessment, Hazard Identification, And Incident Investigation.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Occupational Safety And Health, Industrial Hygiene, Or A Related Field.

  • Professional Certification Such As Certified Safety Professional (Csp) Or Certified Industrial Hygienist (Cih).

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Regulations Related To Workplace Safety And Health, Including Osha And Wisha.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Develop And Deliver Effective Training Programs And Collaborate With Diverse Stakeholders.
