Welcome to the City of Seattle! We are currently seeking a highly skilled Reporting & Data Specialist to join our dynamic team. As the Reporting & Data Specialist, you will play a key role in collecting, analyzing, and reporting on data to inform decision-making at the City. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for using data to drive positive change in our community.   1. Collect and compile relevant data from various sources to create comprehensive reports for the City of Seattle.
  2. Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform decision-making.
  3. Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide them with accurate and timely reports.
  4. Develop and maintain data systems and databases to ensure accurate and efficient data collection and analysis.
  5. Create data visualizations and presentations to effectively communicate complex data to non-technical audiences.
  6. Continuously monitor data quality and integrity, making necessary corrections and improvements as needed.
  7. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in data analysis and reporting techniques.
  8. Use data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for process and policy changes.
  9. Train and support team members on data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
  10. Uphold the highest standards of data security and confidentiality.
  11. Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures.
  12. Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement opportunities for data integration and automation.
  13. Work with cross-functional teams to develop strategies and plans for using data to drive positive change in the community.
  14. Effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  15. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to data management and reporting.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Data Analytics, Business Administration, Or Computer Science.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Data Analysis And Reporting, Preferably In A Government Or Municipal Setting.

  • Proficiency In Data Visualization Tools Such As Tableau Or Power Bi, And Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills.

  • Strong Understanding Of Data Management Principles And Experience With Sql Databases.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Translate Complex Data Into Actionable Insights For Non-Technical Stakeholders.
