  1. Lead and manage the paralegal department, ensuring efficient workflow and successful completion of all legal matters.
  2. Provide guidance and support to other paralegals, promoting a collaborative and cohesive team environment.
  3. Conduct legal research and analysis, and prepare accurate and thorough legal documents.
  4. Assist attorneys in all aspects of case preparation, including document management, witness interviews, and trial preparation.
  5. Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions and tasks.
  6. Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  7. Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and court procedures to provide accurate and timely support to legal team.
  8. Organize and manage case files, ensuring all documents and evidence are properly maintained and easily accessible.
  9. Collaborate with attorneys to develop strategies and action plans for cases.
  10. Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating travel arrangements.
  11. Monitor deadlines and assist in meeting court and filing deadlines.
  12. Assist with training and mentoring new paralegals.
  13. Assist with budget management and resource allocation for the paralegal department.
  14. Demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of the job.
  15. Represent the City of Seattle in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Paralegal Studies Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience As A Paralegal, With At Least 2 Years In A Leadership Role.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Legal Procedures, Terminology, And Research Methods.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Lead And Mentor A Team.

  • Proficiency In Legal Software And Technology, Including Document Management And E-Filing Systems.
