Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as an Information and Access Strategic Advisor. In this role, you will serve as a key advisor to city leadership on information and access initiatives, ensuring that our residents have equal and transparent access to vital resources and services. As a successful candidate, you will possess a deep understanding of information management and access principles, as well as a passion for promoting social justice and equity.   1. Serve as a strategic advisor to city leadership on information and access initiatives, providing expert guidance and recommendations.
  2. Develop and implement strategies and policies to promote equitable access to information and services for all residents.
  3. Stay up-to-date on the latest information management and access principles and trends to inform decision-making.
  4. Collaborate with multiple city departments and community organizations to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to information and access.
  5. Conduct research and analysis to identify gaps and areas for improvement in information and access systems.
  6. Advise on the development and implementation of technology solutions to enhance access and transparency.
  7. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of information and access programs and initiatives, making necessary adjustments as needed.
  8. Provide training and support to city staff on information management and access principles and best practices.
  9. Serve as a liaison between the city and community groups, advocating for equitable access to resources and services.
  10. Demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting social justice and equity in all aspects of the role.
  11. Represent the city at meetings, conferences, and other events related to information and access.
  12. Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on information and access initiatives and outcomes.
  13. Collaborate with the communications team to develop messaging and materials to promote awareness of information and access resources and services.
  14. Uphold the values and mission of the City of Seattle in all aspects of the role.
  15. Continuously seek opportunities for innovation and improvement in information and access systems and processes.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Information Science, Library Science, Or Related Field.

  • At Least 5 Years Of Experience In Information Management And Access, Preferably In A Government Setting.

  • Strong Understanding Of Data Privacy And Security Laws And Regulations.

  • Experience In Developing And Implementing Information And Access Policies And Procedures.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Diverse Stakeholders And Present Complex Information To Non-Technical Audiences.
