Job Description

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Generation Engineering Supervisor for our Energy Production and Sustainable Energy (EPSE) division. This role offers the chance to oversee and manage the operations of our city’s renewable energy generation systems, while also leading a team of talented engineers and technicians.   1. Oversee and manage the operations of the City of Seattle's renewable energy generation systems, including solar, wind, and hydroelectric facilities.
  2. Lead a team of engineers and technicians to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all renewable energy systems.
  3. Develop and implement strategies for optimizing renewable energy production and reducing costs.
  4. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to integrate renewable energy into city-wide sustainability initiatives.
  5. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of renewable energy systems to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  6. Monitor and analyze data related to energy production and make recommendations for improvements.
  7. Develop and manage budgets for renewable energy projects and operations.
  8. Keep up to date with industry trends and advancements in renewable energy technology.
  9. Represent the City of Seattle at industry conferences and events related to renewable energy.
  10. Foster a culture of innovation and sustainability within the EPSE division and the broader community.
  11. Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of engineering staff.
  12. Ensure all operations and projects adhere to city policies and procedures.
  13. Collaborate with other city departments and external partners to identify and pursue new renewable energy opportunities.
  14. Lead by example in promoting sustainable practices and behaviors within the EPSE division and the community.
  15. Communicate effectively with city officials, stakeholders, and the public about renewable energy initiatives and projects.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Electrical Engineering Or Related Field

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Power Generation Engineering

  • Professional Engineering (Pe) License

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Power Generation Systems And Equipment

  • Strong Leadership And Management Skills, With Experience In Supervising And Mentoring A Team Of Engineers
