We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join our team and help us maintain and improve upon our existing electrical infrastructure.As an Electrical Power Systems Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to our residents and businesses. This position requires a strong technical background and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals. If you possess a passion for sustainable energy solutions and a drive to make a positive impact on our city, we encourage you to apply.To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, as well as at least 3 years of experience in power systems engineering.   1. Develop and maintain electrical power systems for the City of Seattle, ensuring reliable and efficient delivery of electricity to residents and businesses.
  2. Collaborate with a team of professionals to identify and implement improvements to the existing electrical infrastructure.
  3. Monitor and analyze power systems data to identify potential issues and recommend solutions to ensure continuous operation.
  4. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of power systems equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  5. Participate in the planning and design of new power systems projects, including renewable energy initiatives.
  6. Provide technical expertise and support to other departments and teams within the City of Seattle on matters related to electrical power systems.
  7. Stay current on industry developments and advancements in sustainable energy solutions to inform decision-making and improve systems.
  8. Communicate with stakeholders, including residents, businesses, and government officials, to address concerns and provide updates on power systems.
  9. Develop and maintain documentation, including reports and plans, related to electrical power systems.
  10. Mentor and train junior engineers and interns to promote professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.
  11. Collaborate with external partners and contractors to complete projects and maintain relationships.
  12. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for self and team members.
  13. Represent the City of Seattle at industry conferences and events to showcase our commitment to innovation and sustainability in power systems engineering.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Electrical Engineering Or Related Field From An Accredited University.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Electrical Power Systems Engineering, Preferably Within A Municipal Or Utility Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Electrical Power Distribution Systems, Including Design, Operation, And Maintenance.

  • Familiarity With Relevant Codes, Standards, And Regulations Related To Electrical Power Systems, Such As Nec, Nesc, And Ieee.

  • Excellent Analytical, Problem-Solving, And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Team And Collaborate With Other Departments And Stakeholders.
