The City of Seattle is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to join our team as an Electrical Inspector, Journey. In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure that all electrical installations in the city meet safety codes and regulations. Conduct thorough and accurate inspections of all electrical installations within the city, including new constructions, renovations, and repairs, to ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations.
Identify and document any violations or potential hazards related to electrical systems and work with property owners and contractors to address and resolve them promptly.
Review and approve electrical plans and designs to ensure they meet safety standards and comply with applicable building codes.
Keep up-to-date with changes in electrical codes and regulations and communicate them effectively to relevant parties.
Work closely with other inspectors and city departments to coordinate and schedule inspections and ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of inspections, violations, and corrective actions taken.
Provide guidance and support to property owners, contractors, and other stakeholders on electrical code requirements and best practices.
Collaborate with city officials and other agencies in the development and implementation of electrical safety policies and procedures.
Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to electrical inspections.
Represent the city in a professional and courteous manner, promoting a positive image and fostering good relationships with the community.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Electrical Inspection, Preferably In A Municipal Or Government Setting.
Comprehensive Knowledge Of Local, State, And National Electrical Codes And Regulations.
Strong Understanding Of Electrical Systems And Equipment, Including Wiring, Lighting, And Power Distribution.
Excellent Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate Technical Information To A Diverse Audience.
Valid Journey-Level Electrical License Or Certification From A Recognized Agency, Such As The International Code Council (Icc).
