Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and visionary Director of Strategic Initiatives to join the City of Seattle. This is an opportunity to lead a team of professionals and use your expertise to drive the City’s strategic initiatives. In this role, you will serve as a key advisor to the Mayor, City Council and executive team on key initiatives and will be instrumental in developing and executing strategies to achieve the City’s short and long-term goals.We are seeking an individual who is an excellent communicator, able to think strategically and lead collaboratively. You should have a deep understanding of the City’s operational and political environment and a demonstrated track record of success leading high-performance teams.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten years of experience in strategic planning and execution, public administration, policy development and/or city management. A Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is strongly preferred.We are looking for a leader with a passion for excellence, a commitment to public service and the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse range of stakeholders.
