Job Description

The City of Seattle is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to be a critical leader in driving the city’s financial strategy. The CFO will be responsible for the oversight of all financial operations and will play a key role in the development of the city’s long-term financial plan. We are looking for an experienced financial leader with a passion for public service who will bring their creativity, energy, and expertise to this role.The successful candidate will have an impressive background in financial management, including a CPA license and a minimum of seven years of experience in public finance. They should have the ability to develop and execute comprehensive financial plans, with a strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and auditing processes. The ideal candidate will also have extensive experience with investments, bond financing, and debt management. You should be an excellent communicator who can effectively work with a variety of stakeholders, including elected officials, city staff, and the public. We are looking for a leader who can bring a strategic and innovative approach to problem-solving and who is committed to supporting the City of Seattle’s mission.
