  1. Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks on all aspects of the library building, including but not limited to electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and structural components.
  2. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any potential safety hazards or maintenance issues.
  3. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and prioritize tasks based on urgency and level of impact on library operations.
  4. Keep accurate records of maintenance tasks performed and materials used.
  5. Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment needed for maintenance work.
  6. Coordinate and communicate with other departments and external contractors as needed for larger scale repairs or projects.
  7. Ensure the cleanliness and overall appearance of the library building, including but not limited to floors, windows, and restrooms.
  8. Assist with setting up and breaking down event spaces within the library.
  9. Handle minor repairs and installations of furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  10. Uphold safety standards and regulations while performing maintenance tasks.
  11. Continuously seek ways to improve and streamline maintenance processes.
  12. Provide excellent customer service to library patrons and staff.
  13. Comply with all city and department policies and procedures.
  14. Attend training and development programs to stay updated on building maintenance techniques and procedures.
  15. Represent the City of Seattle and the library in a professional and positive manner at all times.

  • Ability To Perform Routine Maintenance Tasks, Such As Replacing Light Bulbs, Unclogging Drains, And Painting.
