- Stay informed about emerging threats and vulnerabilities, and proactively implement measures to mitigate risks.
- Lead a team of technical professionals responsible for implementing and maintaining security measures.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to protecting critical infrastructure.
- Conduct regular security audits and assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and make recommendations for improvement.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the city's technology infrastructure can quickly recover from any potential disruptions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for any security incidents, and lead the response and remediation efforts.
- Develop and conduct training for employees on security best practices and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and compliance standards related to information security.
- Work closely with the CTO and other senior leaders to align security initiatives with the overall technology strategy of the city.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management and city officials on the state of security and infrastructure.
- Manage the security budget and make recommendations for investments in security tools and technologies.
- Foster a culture of security awareness and responsibility among all employees.
- Act as a liaison with external security agencies and vendors to ensure the city's security needs are met.
Extensive Experience In Cybersecurity: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have A Strong Background In Cybersecurity, Including Knowledge Of Current Threats, Industry Best Practices, And Experience With Implementing Security Protocols And Procedures.
Leadership And Management Skills: The Assistant Cto For Security & Infrastructure / Ciso Will Be Responsible For Managing A Team Of It Professionals And Overseeing The City's Cybersecurity Strategy. They Should Have Proven Leadership Skills And The Ability To Effectively Communicate And Collaborate With Others.
Knowledge Of Infrastructure And Network Security: In Addition To Cybersecurity, The Candidate Should Have A Solid Understanding Of Infrastructure And Network Security. This Includes Experience With Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems, And Other Security Measures To Protect The City's Network And Data.
Strategic Thinking And Problem-Solving Abilities: The Assistant Cto / Ciso Will Be Responsible For Developing And Implementing A Comprehensive Cybersecurity Plan For The City. They Should Have Strong Strategic Thinking Skills And The Ability To Identify And Address Potential Security Risks And Vulnerabilities.
