- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls and provide assistance to the community.
- Enforce laws and ordinances in a fair and impartial manner, while protecting the rights of all individuals.
- Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and make arrests as necessary.
- Maintain a high level of physical and mental fitness to effectively perform the duties of a police officer.
- Work collaboratively with other law enforcement agencies and departments to ensure public safety.
- Communicate effectively with diverse individuals and de-escalate potentially volatile situations.
- Remain knowledgeable and up-to-date on laws, policies, and procedures pertinent to the job.
- Maintain accurate and thorough records, and prepare detailed reports as required.
- Serve as a positive role model for the community and promote community-oriented policing strategies.
- Attend required training and educational programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to departmental rules, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Participate in community outreach and engagement activities to foster positive relationships with the public.
- Serve as a mentor and resource to new officers and assist in their training and development.
- Continuously evaluate and improve upon job performance and seek opportunities for professional growth.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Full-Time, Sworn Police Officer In Another Agency.
Must Possess A Valid Peace Officer Standards And Training (Post) Certificate.
Completion Of A Certified Lateral Entry Program Or Equivalent Training As Deemed Acceptable By The Department.
Must Pass A Physical Fitness Test And Meet Departmental Standards For Physical Ability.
Must Pass A Comprehensive Background Investigation, Including A Polygraph Examination And Psychological Evaluation.
