  1. Design and implement a robust and secure network infrastructure for the City of Portland, ensuring that it meets the needs of our critical operations.
  2. Monitor and maintain the network infrastructure, identifying and addressing any potential issues or vulnerabilities to ensure maximum uptime and efficient performance.
  3. Provide technical expertise and leadership to the network engineering team, guiding and mentoring junior engineers to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
  4. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to understand their network needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements.
  5. Develop and maintain network policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance with industry best practices and regulatory standards.

  8. Lead the planning and implementation of network upgrades, expansions, and other projects to support the city's growth and evolving needs.

  10. Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure the city's network infrastructure is supported and maintained effectively.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Network Engineering, Preferably In A Large-Scale Environment.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Network Protocols, Including Tcp/Ip, Bgp, Ospf, And Mpls.

  • Professional Certifications Such As Ccnp, Ccie, Or Jncie Are Highly Desirable.

  • Strong Problem-Solving And Analytical Skills, With The Ability To Troubleshoot And Resolve Complex Network Issues.
