  • Lead and facilitate tennis programs and activities at the Tennis Center
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants
  • Provide excellent customer service to all patrons
  • Ensure the safety of all participants during programs and activities
  • Assist in promoting and marketing tennis programs and events to the community
  • Maintain a clean and organized facility
  • Help develop and implement new and innovative tennis programs to attract more participants
  • Enforce facility rules and regulations
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions
  • Serve as a positive role model for all participants
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors
  • Responsible for handling cash transactions and maintaining accurate records
  • Maintain and update equipment and supplies as needed
  • Assist in coordinating and running tournaments and events
  • Help maintain and update the Tennis Center's social media presence.

Job Qualifications
  • Experience And Proficiency In Tennis: This Position Requires A Strong Understanding And Skill In Playing And Teaching Tennis, As Well As Knowledge Of Rules And Regulations.

  • Relevant Education And Certifications: A Bachelor's Degree In Recreation, Sports Management, Or A Related Field Is Preferred. Additionally, Certifications Such As Uspta Or Ptr Would Be Highly Desirable.

  • Customer Service Skills: As A Representative Of The City Of Portland, The Candidate Must Possess Excellent Customer Service Skills And Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patrons Of All Ages And Backgrounds.

  • Team Player Mentality: The Candidate Should Be Able To Work Collaboratively With Other Staff Members To Ensure The Smooth Operation Of The Tennis Center And Its Programs.

  • First Aid And Cpr Certification: Safety Is A Top Priority In Any Recreation Job, And Having Current First Aid And Cpr Certifications Is Necessary For This Position.
